WEEKEND CHALLENGE

Ready for our 'We are what we do' competition please think of a list of things that you could do to make the world a better place.

Jason's Adventure Story

A Pirate Adventure

It was early one Saturday morning and I was reading a book of a pirate. But Leo didn’t like pirate and he picked up the book and out came golden sparkling coin. Mum came upstairs and shouted, “Don’t go any where until I come back!”

I turned the golden coin over slowly. It was a very ear beautiful, old coin. The next moment I feel myself being sucked through the coin. I open my eyes and look at Leo, we were astonished at what we saw. There were massive piles of money ,shiny and bright in our eyes. We were in a deep, treasure filled cave.Leo shouted to me ,”Watch out, there are pirates coming, hide behind that treasure chest.”
“Sshh Leo, they’ll hear you.” I whispered. We ran and crouched behind the treasure chest. The pirate came closer and closer into the cave. I could hear them breathing They were so close. Suddenly there was a massive scream……

“What are you doing in here?” The pirates got a chair and made me and Leo sit down, then they tied us up. I felt a bit worried and angry. The pirate cellotaped my mouth. All the pirates started to pinch me . I try and get the gold coin out of my pocket , but I can’t get it. I want the gold coin so I can go back home. The pirates took me and Leo to the pirate ship. There were guns, knives, sweets and wine on the ship. I didn’t know where I was going. The pirates blindfolded me. They made me walk down the plank. I was so scared. There were sharks at the bottom spinning around the ship. They were jumping and snapping their teeth like a crocodile. I walked to the end of the plank and tried to get the ropes off my hands. But I couldn’t!

I walked along the plank. I got closer and closer to the end. Suddenly I felt myself falling and falling. Next thing I know I’m on the back of a talking bird with my friend Leo. The bird suggested, “Shall I take you back to your home?”
I replied, “Yes please.” I felt happy. I said, “Thank you for saving me.” We landed at home.

My mum hears the bird and me and Leo land. She runs upstairs, “ Where were you? What is that bird doing in the house?”
I answered, “I’ve been on an adventure with pirates and treasure! The bird saved me, please can I keep him?”
Mum said, “ I told you not to go near that book, but you didn’t listen!”
“Please mum, I’m really sorry and learnt my lesson!” I pleaded.
“Ok,” said mum and I got to keep the bird. I called him Pirate!

What have we been doing so far in class this half term?

For the next 3 weeks in literacy we are going to be creating our own adventure story. Our display helps us remember all the different parts of the story that need to make a fantastic adventure story.

We have started a very exciting topic in music. We are learning about rythmn! The children are progressing so well that we are learning to read music properly. We are learning to clap rhythms using crotchets, minims and semibreves.

After a lot of hardwork we have completed the 'Autumn Leaf' display. It looks wonderful in the corner of our classroom. Well done to the whole of 3 Cherry for making such a massive effort!

A Letter From The Wicked Witch of the West to Dorothy by Green and Blue Group

Land of Oz
9th November 2007
Dear Dorothy,
I am writing to you because I am very upset and angry. Last week you landed in Oz on top of my sister in your enormous house. You MURDERED her! I am extremely upset. What I can't understand is why did you murder her?? She hadn't done anything to you, she was a good, white witch. We only practiced good magic. I need to know, did you murder her on purpose or was it an accident?

Another thing I am very upset about is that you STOLE from my sister. How dare you!! She had a pair of gorgeous ruby, red slippers which were a present from our father. I have followed you all round the Land of Oz trying to get them back. But you just keep calling me a Wicked Witch and not talking to me. My face only looks evil and green because my Mum drank some weed killer instead of her medicine when she was pregnant with me. You keep running away from me with your friends the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion. I am not wicked, I am a good, white witch, I am just upset that you murdered and stole from me. Please, please may I have the slippers back, they are the last thing I have to remind me of my sister and are very precious to me.

Please return my sisters ruby red slippers as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully

Ellie

Rashma's Story Setting

Church Street Market Story

It was early in the morning, the sun was rising up as the market sellers, started to get the shops ready before the customers arrived. Sooner or later the people arrived one by one, desperate to get the food ready for there children before they come home. When the market started to get full, the market sellers started shouting, roll up, roll up get your, barging for however much they cost. Suddenly the people can smell the musty, smelly, tiny, crabs clipping and clapping with there sharp, brown claws. As the people walk around the market stall they can see the beautiful cherry red and violet blue flower petals blowing away with a thunder, heavy, vast, tornado of leaves wanting to fly away in a colder place were it is extremely windy and a bit misty. When the people looked at Gregg’s bakery shop .You will be able to smell the beautiful cakes and biscuits that people love to buy for them or there children’s to eat for a treat or at there birthday party.

Sarah and Sam are brother and sister, but don’t have the same personality or appearance. Sarah was a responsible, gentle, happy and sensible girl. Sarah always wore her rose, red skirt, her sky blue top and her pink rose hair band. Sam is cheeky, funny, disgusting and lazy. He wore dirty black trousers, a black jumper with a cap at the back and he had he had short, black, spiky hair too.

One day Sam and Sarah’s mum and dad asked them if they could go and get some red juicy tomato’s strawberry and apples. As they walked through the market they saw a fun fair. Sam and Sarah wanted to go, but the problem was they had no money, except the five pound there mum and dad gave them for the food. Sarah looked at the money her mum gave them. They could hear all the laughter and happiness coming, from all the children, on the rides. They also could hear the crashing and the banging noise, the market sellers were making while they were closing the shops down. Sam and Sarah saw all the children playing on the bouncy castle, the slide and the round about. Sam and Sarah‘s shoulders slumped down and there head bowed down too. They both walked home sadly and slowly.

Suddenly Sarah had a splendid idea, so she told Sam that they could spend the money there mum and dad gave them and they can pay them back, when they go home. Happily Sam and Sarah ran into the market holding, each others hand and with a huge smile on there face. They went on the bouncy castle, the round about, the slide and the merry go round. The bouncy castle had a huge clown on top. They had so much fun that they forgot about the shopping. Finally they went home and told there mum and dad what happened, and while they were talking about that they also thought of the silly mistakes they made.
