Super Spellers

SUPER DUPER CHERRY SPELLERS

Well done: Rashma, Jamil, Alaa, Rea,Bouchaib, Hajar, Zana, Ava, Jone Yen, Rowaida, Mira, Yasmin, Yousaf, Sayeed, Kareem, Tahmid, Hamudi, Mohammed, Cerine and Belkacem.


Today we have had a really fun morning. We have painted our own backdrop for Little Red Riding Hood. A particular well done to Jason who managed to paint all of the sky. If you look carefully there are 33 cherries for all the members of 3 Cherry Class- a lovely idea! A massive thank you goes to Jone Yen and Tahmid who did a fantastic job tidying and washing everything up.

We have made props and are working on making some costumes for our play. We are going to be performing for Year 1 who are learning the story of Little Red Riding Hood at the moment. Let's hope we don't get any stage fright!!!!

EXTRA MATHS

In our classroom I have made 9 folders full of extra maths worksheets for the children to take home at any time when they feel they would like the challenge of doing a bit of extra challenge maths in order to consolidate their learning. The categories they are under are:
* Addition
* Subtraction
*Multiplication
*Division
*Rounding to the nearest 10 and 100
*Problem Solving
*Number bonds to 10 and 100
*Doubling
*Halving
Put the finished work in the red folder and I will mark it.

EXTRA RESEARCH


Well done to the children who are trying particularly hard with this weeks challenge. A particular well done to Alaa, Hajar, Hamudi, Yasmin,Ava and Rea who have been busy in the evenings doing extra research. Here is an example of some of their work.

Your challenge-say the 4 times table faster than me AND be able to answer quick fire questions!!!! Well done to Mohammed, Shannon, Mai, Jack, Hajar, Mira and Belkacem who are almost perfect at there 4 times table.

CHALLENGE WEEKEND

Today, the children have made up there own challenges. The best from each challenge gets :
2 housepoints.

1. Name all the planets and give one fact about each one.
2. Learn, "The Little Blue Engine" off by heart, ready to perform it, thinking about expression!
3. Draw as many things as you can to do with Ancient Egypt.
