Autumn Leaves

In art this half-term, we are experimenting with different mediums to create autumn leaves. To help us with our work we visited St. Johns Wood Park to look at the leaves more carefully.

Today we have been learning to count on in 3's thinking about our 3 x table. Your challenge is to count on in 3's quicker than Miss. German.

Super Spellers

Every week we have a spelling test on Thursday morning. This week we had lots of fantastic spellers who achieved a brilliant ten out of ten for their spellings.

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

Hola, ciao, gruzi, hej, bonjour, ola,

Today is the European Day of Languages and to mark the day the children have spent the afternoon doing a variety of different activities. They have learnt about the different languages spoken in Europe, have read a story in Spanish, learnt some songs in Welsh and have even done some Irish dancing!

Here you can see Miss Williams teaching the children some Welsh.

The children in year 3 are all starting to learn Spanish this year. Throughout the year they will learn how to greet people, say their names, their ages, count to 31, know how to say colours, days of the week, months of the year and animals. So please make sure you ask your child what they are learning in Spanish and you could even get your child to teach you some Spanish!!

Welcome to 3 Cherry

Welcome to 3 Cherry. This year your teachers are going to be Miss. German, Miss. McDonald and Miss. Marks. We have got a very exciting year ahead of us! We are going to be learning about so many fantastic things: about the Ancinet Egytpians and the Ancient Greeks, how to make a scary mythical creatures out of clay, how to make and design our own sandwiches, to compose our own animal music and that's just a start! In maths, english and science you will continue to be working very hard, exploring topics such as magnets and springs, learning about different authors and maybe even getting on to division in maths!

Some Reminders:

*P.E. is on Tuesday, so remember your shorts and t-shirts.
*Games is on Thursday, so remember your tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, jumper and trainers.
* Homework in Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Monday=spelling sentences
Wednesday=Maths
Friday=Literacy
*Spelling tests are on Thursdays (check on the blog to see if you have got 10 out of 10.)
